Allow me to go into detail about our food - in terms of the "build your own" meal option.
For the protein/meat options we bake both the chicken and basa in the oven and only add herbs such as basil, rosemary, and thyme. The ground beef is currently cooked using a frying pan with added Mrs. Dash spices, but we are considering forming the meat into meatballs to have better presentation and a less messy meal. The tofu is cubed and coated with curry spices which is then pan fried. There are no added oils in our protein as we realize that not everyone likes their food cooked in oil.
In terms of the vegetables, the broccoli, green beans, and carrots are steamed. The sweet potatoes will come in cube form and are boiled. The mashed potatoes are the only vegetable option that has added butter, which is taken into consideration when calculating the macro information.
Nutrimeals created the "build your own" dish to appeal to individuals who are very health conscious eaters. The spices and herbs that we use have little to no salt in them and I do my best to stay away from added oils in all of our other dishes. People who order these dishes are welcome to add their own components such as a healthy fat, additional spices, sauces, etc.
